This paper presents the contribution of the authors regarding the implementation of a maximum power point tracking embedded system for photovoltaic panels. This system optimizes the conversion of the electrical energy supplied by photovoltaic panels into DC energy. The DC-DC converter used in this application must be controlled so that to extract the maximum power yielded by the panel but in the same time to assure the requested output voltage for the DC load. The key device in this system is a midrange 8 bit microcontroller that consist acquisition, command and control hardware resources.en_US
