This paper presents a new framework for image restoration using the Partial Derivatives Equations (PDE) approach and image fusion techniques. The degraded image is processed independently using two or more PDE filters than the results are combined through fusion, the final processed image being obtained by a recurrence of the previous steps. The proposed framework allows combinations of any PDE based filters for processing adaptively a given region of the input image with the most appropriate filter. Preliminary results show that this approach is very efficient in designing new image restoration techniques.en_US
