This paper presents a polarization method for electrical current measurement using optical fiber. Classical polarization method has the advantage of being simple but for getting a good performance the optical components have to be carefully assembled due to their sensitivity to disturbance (temperature, vibration). In the field of power systems the most common sensors are those used for the measurement of electrical quantities and to oversee the electrical equipment under voltage. Many times these sensors are located in hardly accessible places (vacuum spaces, with oil, gas, etc.) or connected at a higher potential than earth potential.en_US
