A toolkit for internet based distance laboratory development [articol]

Abstract

This paper describes the design and implementation of a distance laboratory, suitable to be used in a large range of experiments with proper customization. Using the well-known client-server paradigm, this design tries to accomplish three goals: simplicity of design, future extensibility and ease of use. This implementation differs from other existing distance laboratory projects in the following way: Firstly, it can be interfaced with a wide range of experiments. Secondly, the core of this system has been designed using XML for a greater flexibility. Finally, it was written to allow further development and enhancements.
