The development of the English language is regarded as a continuous process in which its daily usage plays an essential role. The historical events are also considered a contributing factor since their impact on the everyday lives of ordinary people inevitably includes the language used by each speaker. With the geographical expansion and the colonization of different parts of the world, local language varieties have been superseded, and the English language spectrum has widened significantly. Our study focuses on the differences between American English and British English, as there are approximately 4,000 words that make up their core lexical identity.en_US
