The main scope of the paper is to make an empirical analysis regarding the relationship between irrigation and efficiency in agriculture sector, the use of water in irrigation and the share of agriculture sector in GDP related to European and world environmental policies, in the frame of water resource management and climate change conditions. We concluded there is a shy relationship between irrigation and agriculture crop. Furthermore, irrigation has no significant effects on GDP. The study is based on data collection using EUROSTAT and Romanian databases. We conclude that water management reform is necessary.en_US
