dc.description.abstract | The aim of this work is to improve power system performance through Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) placement by the application of Self-Adaptive Firefly Algorithm (SAFA). The SAFA selects the best positions and parameters for UPFC placement. Three single objectives of Real Power Loss (Ploss) minimization, Voltage Profile (VP) improvement, Voltage Stability (VS) enhancement and one multi objective of Ploss, minimization, simultaneously improve the VP besides enhancing the VS are considered. IEEE 30 bus system is selected to perform the simulation in order to validate the SAFA approach and simulation solutions are conferred. | en_US |
