Abstract:
1H-3-methyl-4-ethoxycarbonyl-5-substituted-benzylidene-hydrazino-pyrazoles are valuable intermediates in
obtaining various heterocyclic systems including pyrazolo triazoles. Literature on electrochemical studies of these compounds is rather scarce to our knowledge. We present the voltammetric behavior of 1H-3-methyl-4-ethoxycarbonyl-5-benzylidenehydrazono-pyrazole in nonaqueous media, using glassy carbon and platinum working electrodes respectively, in order to elucidate the influence of the various electrode materials on the process of anodic oxidation and cathodic reduction. The main goal in using the obtained data is optimizing the electro synthesis of the corresponding pyrazolotriazoles.
