It has been widely acknowledged that Logarithmic Image Processing (LIP) models offer a new approach for image enhancement. In this paper, we compare the existing LIP models to a new, logarithmiclike model, by means of a modified contrast stretching method. The proposed approach exhibits significant improvements regarding the overall contrast and details visibility over a large set of biomedical applications. |
