Abstract:
A simple and rather precise design method for a transformer-coupled input rectifier with a filter capacitor is proposed in this paper. It is based on the determination of the conduction angle of the rectifier diodes, by taking in account the transformer equivalent resistance and the rectifier diode voltage drops. This design method is based on a logarithmic equation and can replace the classical design procedure that is based on coefficients taken from nonlinear graphical diagrams.
