Abstract:
The paper is devoted to the analysis of the statistical behaviour of chaotic signals having in view their suitability for the cryptografic applications. The investigation is illustrated using the chaotic signals provided by the logistic function. The procedure of investigation combines information theory notions with statistical inferences based on one or two data sets. The following statistical tools are considered: probability estimations with multiple confidence intervals, test on probability and test on equality between probabilities. The type II statistical error plays a special role in the design of the experimental data size.
