dc.description.abstract |
In the field of digital communications, a remarkable development had happened in the last years as new technologies and applications had emerged daily and FPGAs became an essential part in implementing DSP systems. This work presents the use of reconfigurable computing devices (FPGAs) in digital communication systems implementation due to the fact that FPGAs have the ability to realize high-speed parallel operations, being ideal for highperformance digital signal processing. Designs of the Binary Phase Shift Keying and Quadrature Phase Shift Keying systems were the subject of simulation, testing and experimental implementations on FPGAs. The results lead to the conclusion that such systems are suitable, both in common area applications for data transmission and in more specific fields like underwater communication. |
