dc.description.abstract Quality of Service and Energy Efficiency are both required performances in the practical applications of mobile ad hoc networks. Due to the limited wireless link capabilities, paths with heavy load will reduce their energy rapidly and maximizes the possibility of path disconnection and packet drops. Hence optimal path is necessary to reduce the energy consumption in MANET. The Dual Cluster Head Election is developed based on node residual energy, distance and expected relative mobility. The dual cluster head selection considers the residual energy of nodes, average distance to neighbors and number of neighbor nodes. The existing multipath routing schemes distribute traffic amid multiple paths instead of routing all the traffic via single path. Two key issues arise in multipath routing are redundancy and quality. We address these issues in the proposed optimal routing paradigm where the best path is selected instead of routing among all available paths. We propose a hybrid approach that uses T2FLS (Type 2 Fuzzy Logic System) to identify a set of good paths and PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) to identify a best path among the selected paths. Due to the lack of central monitoring system in MANET, insider attacks (False Data Injected Attack and False Route Attacks) may occur. To reveal this task, false data predicted on the source digital signature by upcoming cluster member. We compare the performance of our approach with those existing schemes and finally show that the proposed approach yields best performance with 0% packet loss rate. en_US
