dc.description.abstract In this study, the effects of dust accumulation on the solar photovoltaic (PV) module are investigated. The dust particles attenuate the incoming solar radiation, leads to reduction in surface transmittance and increase in temperature. The MATLAB simulation is used to demonstrate the effect of dust deposition on the PV module. The experiment is aimed to investigate the effects of four artificial air pollutants such as soil, cement, talcum powder and salt under indoor condition. The experimental result shows that there is a considerable reduction in the performance of PV module, which has linear relationship with the physical properties of dust particles. The increase in operating temperature and voltage reduction of PV module is investigated at indoor test conditions. en_US
