dc.description.abstract This thesis brings in discussion two actual subjects: the use of aluminium alloys in civil engineering and the new welding procedure – Friction Stir Welding. The two subjects are parallel presented in the first five chapters and brought together in chapter six, where the superstructure for an emergency bridge is designed and calculated, according to Eurocode 9. en_US
