Abstract:
Language is a living organism in constant change. Each shift in language is a response to a change in collective priorities, fears and innovations, offering a unique lens through which to examine historical and contemporary transformations. Lexical changes shape whole communities and give them identity. The adoption of new dictionary entries reflects broader linguistic and cultural trends. Strating from this reality, the present work aims at highlighting the cultural relevance of new dictionary entries, as well as their psychological impact on the new generation.
