Abstract:
The present paper highlights several challenges that arise when teaching English for Psychology to Romanian students. Contextualisation, false cognates, terminology equivalence are some of the categories that pose certain problems. The study refers to the acquisition of lexical content by psychology students and analyses the complications involved These challenges pertain to the selection of appropriate instructional materials, the incorporation of authentic texts, the students’ ability to accurately identify and translate specialized terminology, and the critical support provided by the teachers throughout this process.
