Abstract: | Most research on media moved away from a mere communicative function. The attention shifted to more actors and contexts creating meanings in the forums. A way of enhancing the content of media concept is to associate it to quasi-rituals. The paper focuses on mediatezed ceremonies, worship, rituals, getting transformed when conveyed through media. We comment upon this aspect, the benefit being an insight into how creativity and constraint are combined inside the cultural frame. Recurrent dilemmas in media studies refers to media manipulating the audience. The subtle mediatic manipulation and the viewers’ „faith” create addiction and distorted education. |
