Abstract:
The raw data from a DNA microarray experiment is a scanned image of a microarray slide that has been subjected to an experimental process. The analysis of data involves an image processing task and has substantial impact on the accuracy and effectiveness of the subsequent gene expression and identification analysis. To extract data from the microarray, a spot localization has to be done. The current work proposes a method for microarray image gridding using a classical image processing algorithm, the Harris corner detector, with slight modifications.
