Abstract:
In this paper, a hybrid control scheme is
proposed for the control of DSTATCOM’s reactive
power with phase shift modulation of n-level inverter
power system. The article presents the hybrid technique
of DSTATCOM which trials to mitigate the power
quality complications of a power system. Here, the gain
parameters of the PI controller are attuned to provide
the optimal control signal of the n-level inverter based
DSTATCOM. The optimal control signal has been
determined utilizing random forest search algorithm
(RFSA). Based on the minimum error function, the
learning process of RFSA is enhanced by using the
lightning search algorithm (LSA) and hence it is named
as RFLSA technique. Then, the proposed technique is
implemented in the MATLAB/Simulink platform and the
performance is evaluated. The behavior of the proposed
technique has been successfully compared with various
techniques. Simulation results shows that the proposed
technique has the capability of ensuring satisfactory
dynamic response resulting high efficiency and
diminished harmonics.
