Abstract:
This paper presents a contribution to improving startup performances of actuators based on deep bar induction motors (IM). To do this, modifications have been made at the rotor bars, through insertion of massive ferromagnetic pieces inside them. Two approaches have been performed (semi-analytical and numerical) to model these new proposed bars over a frequency range. A dynamic modelling has been carried out, which takes into account the influence of these pieces on different starting characteristics namely the electromagnetic torque, the stator current, the speed, and the machine startup time studied.
